Habitat: On soil in woodland, frequently with conifers and less often decdiuous trees. Often abundant in plantations. Reported from grassland but mostly unsubstantiated with voucher material and possibly representing other taxa.
Notes: Common and widespread. N.B. originally described as ‘rachodes’, but this is considered an orthographic error.
